Chessie-Proof Toy Update

It has been two weeks since the box of toys have arrived and they have held up pretty well!

Louie with Jolly Ball, JW Big Bone and Orbee Cosmos ball after 2 weeks of Chessie play!

Jolly Pet Tug N Toss 8-inch – The Jolly Ball toy has been with us about a month and it has some teeth marks that you can see but is still in one piece almost good as new and Louie loves to play with it, toss it, chew on it and run around with it in his mouth.

JW Pet Company iSqueak Bone Rubber Dog Toy – The iSqueak Bone has suffer the most abuse from Louie and me. Louie loves to run around the yard with this toy and I love to lie in the yard and chew on it. As you can see in the above photo, the bone has suffered the most damage. Louie almost removed the one bump of the bone so Pam cut it off. The bone is made of very tough rubber, so neither of us could get that bump off in one day. We worked on it for days before Pam removed it. The other bump has a rip started but it is not getting worse yet. If thrown and it hits the ground just so, it still squeaks! I have not been able to remove the squeaker. This toy lasted about 1.5 weeks before the bump removal.

Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Cosmos Dog Toy – The Orbee Cosmos ball is EXCELLENT! No damage at all! Louie and I both play with it, Louie more than me. We chew on it, Louie chases it. Pam throws it and even Scout the Jack Russell Terrier plays with it. It is squishy and bouncy and lots of fun!

JW Pet Company Bad Other Cuz Rubber Dog Toy – The Bad Other Cuz lost his feet almost immediately, thanks to Louie! I was not pleased with this development because I liked to squeak him! Other than the amputation and inability to squeak, he is holding up well.

Kong Classic, large – We have never destroyed a Kong! However, Louie only plays with a Kong when it has peanut butter or pumpkin inside. I however like to chew on them for hours, especially the ones Louie has had because he is not very patient and doesn’t get all of the peanut butter out of it.

Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball, Large – This is our FAVORITE toy because this is how we get our food every day, every meal! Louie and I both had to scavenge for food before we came into rescue so we see food and inhale it! About 1.5 years ago, Pam decided I needed to work for my food as I was showing some bear-like tendencies in my food hunting. She found these “food balls” and this is how we eat. We LOVE our food balls! Each holds about 1 cup of dry dog food and so we each get 4 food balls a day. Louie is much better at the food ball than I am, so he cleans up my food balls. I actually get one meal a day in a bowl and if I am having trouble walking on a particular day, Pam helps me get situated in my crate so I can play with the ball and not have to chase it. We do get these balls in our crates but Louie often takes his out for a tour of the kitchen. Louie has chewed holes in 2 food balls when he was having a stressful day. Otherwise the food balls are pretty durable since we show them some respect – would you eat your food dish???

4/27/2012 – Chessie-Proof Toy Update

We have a new toy to add to the list. Our friend, Erin, brought me a new squeaky ball two weeks ago and it is no worse for the wear! Louie and I love it so much we have had to buy two more because we fight over it!

JW Pet Company iSqueak Ball Rubber Dog Toy - This squeaky ball is addictive! Louie and I have gotten into trouble for squeaky it at in appropriate hours outside. It is not allowed in the house – Pam says it is annoying in the house! And we are not allowed to squeak it after dark! I love this ball so much I have been known to lie on top of it! This ball gets the highest ratings from both me and Louie!
